In a fresh twist in the Hakan Calhanoglu transfer saga, reports from Italy claim that Jose Mourinho wants to sign the Turkish international for Fenerbahce, after fierce rivals Galatasaray have been strongly linked with the midfielder.

Calhanoglu is considered up for sale by the Nerazzurri but only if a club is willing to meet their estimated €30 million valuation of the player.

Now, Alfredo Pedullà for Caught Offside and the Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Mourinho’s Fenerbahce have well and truly entered the race and are already prepared to offer €20 million for the Inter midfielder.

Fenerbahce offer Calhanoglu captain’s armband

Fenerbahce are not only interested in Calhanoglu but they seem determined to tempt the 31-year-old, with the Turkish side reportedly offering the player the role of captain, should he join the club this summer.

This news comes just a day after Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio reiterated Calhanoglu never expressed the desire to leave the club, despite talks with Galatasaray.
