Manchester United have already made significant moves to reshape their midfield.

Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have both arrived at Old Trafford, giving Michael Carrick more quality and experience in the middle of the pitch.

However, United are still looking at the market for another midfielder, with the club understood to be searching for the right profile to complete their options.

The Reds have also been linked with players capable of operating in multiple positions, something that could prove valuable across a long season.

One name already on United’s radar is Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, who has impressed despite limited Premier League starts last season.

Manchester United offered chance to sign Myles Lewis-Skelly

According to Football London, Manchester United have now been offered the opportunity to sign Lewis-Skelly, with Chelsea also presented with the chance to bring the 19-year-old in after Arsenal’s £75million arrival of Bruno Guimaraes.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is a product of Arsenal’s Hale End academy, although he also spent time at Chelsea’s Cobham setup during his youth career.

Despite only signing a new Arsenal contract last year, his future has unexpectedly come under scrutiny this summer.

The England international featured 36 times in all competitions last season, although just 19 of those appearances came as starts.

In the Premier League, he started only five matches during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign.

His versatility could be particularly attractive to United.

Lewis-Skelly has been deployed as a defensive midfielder throughout every Arsenal pre-season fixture so far, while his biggest statement last season came when he was selected alongside Declan Rice in midfield for the Champions League final.

That performance appears to have strengthened his reputation as a player capable of handling the biggest occasions, despite his relatively young age.

United had already placed Lewis-Skelly on their shortlist before this latest development, and reports indicate they are now investigating whether a deal can realistically be negotiated with Arsenal.

The situation has emerged shortly after Guimaraes’ arrival at the Emirates, with Arsenal seemingly considering whether Lewis-Skelly could be moved on despite his recent contract extension.

Chelsea have also been offered the player and have held an interest in him for some time, meaning United would face competition if they decide to push ahead.
