Napoli are going full-steam ahead to bring in both Miguel Gutierrez and Janlu Sanchez, hence addressing both fullback spots. They have reached a verbal agreement with Girona on a €20M deal and are ironing out the details, Gianluca Di Marzio informs.

Instead, the negotiation with Sevilla needs a little more work, but it’s well underway. Wolverhampton have submitted a comparable bid, but the youngster wants to move to Campania. The operation is expected to be completed for about €17M within the next couple of days.

Napoli would round out their defense with Gutierrez and Sanchez, who would join Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Mathias Olivera, and Leonardo Spinazzola wide. Instead, Pasquale Mazzocchi and Alessandro Zanoli will likely leave the team before deadline day.

The 24-year-old has been a staple for Girona for the past three campaigns after joining from the Real Madrid youth academy. Instead, the Sevilla specialist has broken out in the last couple of seasons, amassing 74 appearances and notching 6 goals and 8 assists. Both were part of Spain’s Olympic team.

Our Take on Napoli Adding Gutierrez and Sanchez

Unless Antonio Conte took time to evaluate Alessandro Zanoli, it’s odd that it took them this long to acquire the latter since they have been after him all summer long, as the fee isn’t exorbitant. They surely need a proper Giovanni Di Lorenzo deputy. A proactive left-back doesn’t hurt.

The big-picture question is whether these will be their last two signings or if they’ll try again to onboard a top-end winger after striking out for Dan Ndoye. It also depends on the remaining spots on the lists, aside from the economic aspects.
