Napoli continue to push for Kobbie Mainoo, with fresh contact made in recent days.
The midfielder remains increasingly on the fringes at Manchester United and, should the Premier League side finally open the door to a move, Napoli have already communicated their total willingness to proceed.
The priority is strengthening the midfield, especially with a couple of expected departures.
Clarifications are needed, however, regarding Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Lorenzo Lucca.
First: Milan have no intention of selling Loftus-Cheek.
Second: even if that were not the case, Napoli are not interested in the former Chelsea midfielder.
Third: there are no conditions whatsoever for a swap deal involving Lucca.
As for Lucca himself, Napoli have made no decision. At this stage he is not considered on the market.
The club’s real priority is recovering Romelu Lukaku to full condition after his long injury lay-off. Only in a few weeks will Napoli review Lucca’s situation, also because, for now, he has little visibility, with Rasmus Højlund becoming increasingly central in Antonio Conte’s plans.
Napoli’s midfield remains the focus, and Mainoo is the name they continue to monitor closely.
