Napoli have lined up Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi as their priority replacement for Saudi Pro League target Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi is a player whose future is up in the air at the moment.
Reportedly, the 25-year-old is not happy with his playing time at Inter. Therefore, he asked for a transfer in January.
However, Inter turned down all offers for Frattesi in the January transfer window. Particularly from Roma.
However, Inter will listen to offers for Frattesi this summer. Despite the impact that he has had as a substitute over the second half of the season, he’s still largely not a regular starter for the Nerazzurri.
Roma will be among the 25-year-old’s major suitors once again.
But newly-crowned Serie A champions Napoli are also ready to make a push to sign Frattesi.
Napoli are keen to strengthen their squad as they look to defend their title, as well as cope with the added demands of the Champions League.
Moreover, the Corriere report, Napoli could also lose midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa.
The 29-year-old former Fulham, Marseille, and Villarreal midfielder is a target for Saudi Pro League club Al-Qadisyah.
And Anguissa is a pivotal player for Napoli. He has been a key figure in both of their recent Serie A title wins.
Therefore, if the Cameroonian is to leave, the Partenopei will certainly want to adequately replace him.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the top target in this regard would be Davide Frattesi.
