Napoli are set to miss out on the signing of England international Jack Grealish, who is now a step away from joining Premier League side Everton from Manchester City this summer, according to various reports on Monday morning.

Everton deal for Grealish leaves Napoli looking elsewhere

Grealish had become a transfer target for Napoli, who have brought in several new additions in preparation for their return to the Champions League this coming season. Kevin De Bruyne, Lorenzo Lucca, Sam Beukema, Noa Lang, Luca Marianucci and Vanja Milikovic-Savic have all arrived at the Stadio Maradona this summer.

The Partenopei are still looking to add another attacker, specifically a winger, to their ranks this summer, and had identified Grealish as one of their options, initially alongside the likes of Federico Chiesa and Raheem Sterling

Reports at the end of July claimed that Grealish, at that time, had become Napoli’s top target for their left wing role

The Partenopei have become a successful springboard for a number of former Premier League players, including the Ballon d’Or nominated Scott McTominay, as well as Billy Gilmor, Frank Anguissa and Romelu Lukaku

However, Grealish will not join that list, as he is now set to join Everton on loan for the 2025-26 season instead, which leaves Napoli exploring potential deals for other targets elsewhere.
