Rasmus Hojlund on the front page headlines rewards Napoli for the timing of their transfer strategy, which had already been generous even before needing to replace Romelu Lukaku.
The Belgian was ruled out for several months in pre-season, and after spending over €30m to secure Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese, suddenly the club found themselves needing to invest heavily again in a striker.
To their credit, Napoli didn’t think twice, and stepped up knowing full well that AC Milan had already approached Manchester United for the Dane.
When Hojlund found out that Napoli were interested, he jumped at the chance and put them top of the list, even asking his club to make it an obligation to buy rather than an option, therefore ensuring he wouldn’t be sent back home to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
Napoli are now reaping the rewards of that €50m investment, not just from the two goals against Juventus last night, but also and above all for the hard work put at the service of the team.
