Napoli have sent Bournemouth an official loan offer for Hamed Junior Traore and are hoping to close out a loan deal in the coming days, reports detail.
The Partenopei are desperate to turn their fortunes around in the second half of the season after the chaos of the first half, which saw them dismiss coach Rudi Garcia and replace him with short-term option Walter Mazzarri. The team currently sit 9th in the Serie A table at the halfway point.
Traore joined Bournemouth last year from Sassuolo in a deal worth around €25m but has struggled to break into the first team on the English coast, seeing just 181 minutes of action across six total games this season.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have now sent in an official loan offer for Traore and talks with Bournemouth are moving forward. A €25m buy option has been attached to the offer and the Italian side would pay the winger’s salary for the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old Ivorian forward has already informed the Cherries that he’d like to make the move to the Partenopei, who are also working on deals for Nottingham Forest’s Orel Mangala and Fiorentina’s Antonin Barak.
