Rasmus Hojlund is approaching the end of his loan spell with Napoli with the striker making an impact during his time with the club.
The Danish international, who joined the former Serie A champions during last summer’s transfer window, has appeared thirty times for the side in the league this season, scoring ten times whilst also providing three assists.
His influence beyond the league can not be understated, too, with the forward scoring a further four goals and providing another assist in other competitions such as the Champions League.
Hojlund’s future has been largely pondered over with supporters of both Napoli and Manchester United aiming to find out what next season will hold for the 23-year-old.
With the Naples outfit now qualifying for the Champions League, though, it appears that Napoli will pursue the obligation to buy the striker from Manchester United which is priced at €44m.
Giovanni Manna, Napoli’s Sporting Director, also confirmed that “Rasmus Hojlund will stay here” when speaking in March further pushing the theory that the striker will not return to Manchester United.
For the Danish international, a permanent stay in Italy could possibly allow him to continue the good work and form that he has already built up over the course of the season.
With Champions League football, Napoli may also face Manchester United which would see the forward and the club reunited on opposing sides.
For Manchester United, too, a permanent deal could be beneficial in freeing up space in the squad for other signings whilst also giving the club more money to work with in the summer window.
Focus may now switch to seeing if a deal can be reached successfully and, if it can, Hojlund’s time as a Manchester United player would be over with him becoming a full part of Napoli’s permanent squad.
