What Happens If Olympiacos Win, Draw or Lose vs. NEC Nijmegen? UEFA Champions League Qualification Explained

Olympiacos and NEC Nijmegen enter the second leg level at 0-0, meaning the result in Nijmegen will decide which team continues in the Champions League qualifying path. UEFA's current 2026/27 format sends the winner of this third qualifying-round tie into the Champions League play-off round, while the losing team moves into the Europa League play-off round.

If Olympiacos win: Olympiacos will advance to the Champions League play-off round. Their next opponent is already set to come from the Union Saint-Gilloise/Bodø/Glimt tie.

If Olympiacos draw: If the match is level after 90 minutes, the tie will go to extra time because the aggregate score would remain level. If neither side wins after extra time, a penalty shootout will decide who advances. The winner goes into the Champions League play-offs, while the eliminated team drops into the Europa League play-off round.

If Olympiacos lose: NEC Nijmegen will advance to the Champions League play-off round, while Olympiacos will drop into the Europa League play-off round. UEFA's qualifying regulations provide a Europa League route for teams eliminated in the Champions League qualifying rounds.
