PERIOA – The Women’s Premier Soccer League announced that Arizona would get a new football club beginning its inaugural season in the summer of 2025. Since the news was first released, the team has been on a statewide search for its new name. After months and 400 name entries, the new Arizona club will be named the Desert Dreams Football Club.

The WPSL was founded in 1998 and is the longest-active women’s soccer league in the United States. The league has grown to over 100 teams, with former U.S. Women’s National Team stars like Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Abby Wambach, and more taking part in the past.

The Desert Dreams F.C. will be a part of the West Region in the Desert Conference with eight other clubs. The new Arizona team will play in the Peoria Sports Complex, which can hold up to 10,000 screaming fans. The club’s website states that the roster will have international players, former and current American college stars, and other Arizona-based players.

Fellow Arizona Teams welcoming in the new club:

The Desert Dreams will be the fifth Arizona football club to join the WPSL. The addition of the club will create memorable inter-state rivalries for the upcoming season. The season will begin in May and follow through till July. The new franchise in the Valley will be an exciting new arrival for fans to watch premier soccer at Peoria Sports Complex to support their new club.
