New Loan For Owners Suning Allows Inter Milan To Seal Three Key Contract Extensions

A new loan to owners Suning from PIMCO will allow Inter Milan to sort out contract extensions for Simone Inzaghi, Nicolo Barella, and Lautaro Martinez.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter have been waiting for weeks to see what would come of the future of owners Suning.

The Nerazzurri owners have been working to sort out the situation of the looming deadline of a massive loan from Oaktree Capital.

And Suning are close to finally resolving that situation. They will refinance their debt to Oaktree with a new loan from PIMCO.

That means that there is clarity about the ownership and financial situation at Inter. At least compared to recent months, and at least for the short-term future.

And this will be important for the club to resolve three very important contract situations.

Inter To Seal Inzaghi, Barella & Lautaro Extension After PIMCO Loan

There has never looked to be all that much doubt that Inter would extend the contracts of coach Inzaghi, midfielder Barella, and captain Martinez.

However, pen has not been put to paper on new deals for any of the trio.

The ownership situation has been a key reason for that. Suning have not been ready to give the decisive green light on big money extensions while they have concentrated on sorting out their future.

But now, Suning are ready to start planning for the future on the pitch.

First off will be a new deal for coach Inzaghi.

The 48-year-old is currently under contract with Inter until the end of next June, and currently earns around €6 million net per season plus add-ons.

Inter will extend the coach’s contract until the end of June 2027. And he will receive a pay raise of around €1 million net per season.

Next, Inter will extend the contract of midfielder Barella. The 27-year-old will sign an extension until the end of June 2029.

This will see Barella’s wages go up from €4.5 million net per season to €7 million net per season.

Lastly will be an extension for captain Martinez.

Unlike with Barella and Inzaghi, there is still work to do in the negotiations. Inter have yet to make an offer that meets the captain’s demands.
