'New name I’m hearing' – Journalist links Chelsea with transfer target never mentioned before

One journalist has linked Chelsea with a transfer target that has never actually been mentioned before as a new name surfaces.

This news comes after Chelsea finally confirmed the arrival of striker Liam Delap from Ipswich Town on Wednesday after days of us knowing it was a done deal!

Delap arrives at the club on a 6-year contract and Chelsea are paying the £30m release clause to sign which in reality, is an absolutely bargain in this day and age.

Chelsea fans know they have a top new talent coming in here, one that is still a bit raw and still developing, but one who has an incredibly high ceiling and so many top attributes for a number 9.

Yesterday was nuts

The Mike Maignan to Chelsea story is just mad right now. It looked like it was happening and then all of a sudden Chelsea are penny pinching and don’t want to pay £25m to sign a world class goalkeeper, or at least that is if you believe the reports, or the PR that is being put out there.

Who knows what is going to happen with this one now, but there are certainly some negotiation tactics at play by both sides right now.

New name added into the madness

Why not throw another new name into the chaos, right?

Journalist Ben Jacobs says that Chelsea are interested in Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.

Jacobs, speaking on a Playback Live show last night, says:

“Nothing to get excited about yet but a new name I’m hearing is Morgan Gibbs White; Chelsea internally appreciate him but nothing more at this stage.”

We’ll have to see if anything happens with that one then.
