The New York Red Bulls, Los Angeles Galaxy, and other MLS teams are already working on strengthening their rosters for the 2026 season.
On Tuesday, it was reported that the LA Galaxy is attentive to all fronts to reinforce its squad. "Free Agency opens tomorrow, INTL players, Trades, etc., all on the board and being sought. Expecting to hear some results of that later this week, and next week, possibly," explained Corner of the Galaxy.
On the other hand, the New York Red Bulls are looking for a goalkeeper to replace the tough loss that will be saying goodbye to Carlos Coronel, who did not extend his contract with the club.
The Athletic's Tom Bogert has given an update on the transfer plans of several Major League Soccer clubs, including the Red Bulls and the Galaxy.
Bogert addressed the Dayne St. Clair situation in an article published on Tuesday, Dec. 9. "The reigning MLS Goalkeeper of the Year is a free agent, as talks for a contract extension with Minnesota United still have not reached a breakthrough," he explained.
The cited journalist explained that although a return to Minnesota is the most likely outcome, the possibility of it not happening is now real.
Among the clubs he mentioned as possible destinations are the New York Red Bulls and the LA Galaxy, but in total, he cited nine MLS teams.
"A sample of teams who could be in the market this winter includes: Orlando City, Nashville SC, the New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC, Atlanta United, D.C. United, San Jose Earthquakes, LA Galaxy, and Sporting KC," Bogert wrote.
RBNY was also recently linked to Ethan Horvath, as according to a report from SBI Soccer, the 30-year-old goalkeeper is set to leave Sheffield Wednesday, the club where he is on loan, and Cardiff City has no intention of extending his contract.
