Newcastle United in talks to sign Valencia star with replacement already tied up

The biggest sign yet that Giorgi Mamardashvili will be leaving Valencia this summer has been revealed, with a potential replacement for the 23-year-old close to being snapped up by Los Che.

As per Diario AS, Valencia have agreed a deal to sign Stole Dimitrievski when his contract runs out at Rayo Vallecano. The Macedonian international will head to the Mestalla this summer, and while he would currently compete alongside Mamardashvili, the expectation is that this won’t be the case.

The same report highlights information from England that Valencia are already in talks to sell Mamardashvili to Newcastle United. A deal could be closed for in the region of €35-40m, as Los Che are under no financial pressure to part ways with one of their best players for a reduced fee.

It does seem very likely that Mamardashvili will be playing his final match for Valencia this weekend. Atletico Madrid are interested, but Newcastle lead the way to secure his signature at this stage.
