Neymar has been linked to many clubs participating in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. Several clubs have reportedly offered Neymar contracts for the summer tournament, but his future at Santos FC is at risk.

Neymar currently has a contract with Santos until the end of June, but he has yet to renew his contract. The Brazilian reportedly wants to stay longer at the club, but the Club World Cup has been an obstacle, according to GeGlobo.

Globo reports that Santos wants a response from Neymar about the contract renewal as soon as possible. Talks are ongoing, but Neymar's entourage wants to make sure if Santos could afford to keep him for another year.

The special summer transfer window that runs until next Tuesday has pressured Neymar and Santos to hurry in agreeing on a new deal due to the player's interest in playing in the Club World Cup with another team.

Neymar's decision to renew or to join another club may be final next week. The player wants gametime and full fitness as he looks ahead to the FIFA World Cup with Brazil next year.

Fluminense Talks with Neymar

Neymar has reportedly talked with a few clubs to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup. One of them is Brazilian club Fluminense, and the club president, Mario Bittencourt, spoke with GeGlobo about the talks he had with Neymar.

Mario Bittencourt: "Neymar spoke with me on a FaceTime call, he was very polite, said he feels proud and that participating in the Club World Cup is a dream, but the professional plan is to use this month to regain his physical fitness. The plan is to utilize the rest period for physical rehabilitation to return in the best shape."

This talk indicates that Neymar could also plan on focusing on his fitness ahead of the FIFA World Cup next year. The Brazilian star still dreams of being a part of the Brazilian national team, and new head coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed having Neymar in his plans.

No Neymar for Brazil this week

Despite Carlo Ancelotti counting on Neymar for the Brazilian national team, the Italian did not call him up for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers matches this week.

Neymar has been left out of the squad due to precaution. The Santos player has just returned from injury, and Ancelotti does not want to risk his fitness.

Ancelotti's first match as head coach of Brazil will be tomorrow, when they take on Ecuador. Next Tuesday, Brazil will take on Paraguay in São Paulo. Brazil confirms its spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with wins against Ecuador and Paraguay.
