No More 'Sell-To-Buy' – Marseille Star’s Swift Arrival Signals Change In Pace For Inter Milan In Transfer Window Under Oaktree Capital

The swift arrival of Luis Henrique has signalled a change in the pace of transfers at Inter Milan under Oaktree Capital.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that there will be no more “sell-to-buy” windows for the Nerazzurri.

Nothing is official just yet. However, it looks to be only a matter of time before Inter Milan complete a deal to sign winger Luis Henrique from Marseille.

The Nerazzurri have identified the Brazilian as their top target to back up Denzel Dumfries on the right flank.

And Inter have reportedly been in talks with Marseille for quite a few weeks now.

The Nerazzurri made their intention clear. They moved early, spending the last couple months laying the groundwork for a deal for Henrique.

As such, Inter have agreed personal terms with Henrique himself. And now, they’ve also found an agreement with Marseille after an initial distance regarding a fee.

Therefore, Inter have beaten the likes of Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, and Bayern Munich to a deal for Henrique. They’ve also prevented Juventus from hijacking the transfer.

Luis Henrique Signals Change In Pace For Inter Transfers Under Oaktree

As the Gazzetta notes, furthermore, Luis Henrique is not the first transfer of the summer for Inter.

In fact, the Nerazzurri wrapped up a deal to sign midfielder Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb months ago.

Sucic spent the second half of the season with Dinamo. However, at the start of June, he will officially become an Inter player.

That means that the Nerazzurri have already gotten two players in before the Club World Cup.

Clearly, Inter owners Oaktree Capital are prioritizing moving quickly.

And as the Gazzetta notes, that is in contrast to how things have gone in recent summers.

In their last few transfer windows under the ownership of Suning, Inter have had to make big sales just to make up for substantial financial losses.

And the Nerazzurri have only made signings after first completing sales. That way, they could make sure they would have the cash to fund any incoming deals.

However, the financial picture has changed a lot for Inter over the last few years.

And as the Gazzetta note, Oaktree look perfectly happy to authorize moves early on in the transfer window if it means that Inter can get their priority targets in early on.
