Tottenham are getting ready to face legal action from Nottingham Forest as the Lilywhites look to seal the deal for Morgan Gibbs-White
Tottenham have found themselves right in the mess as the transfer saga involving Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White continues. The Lilywhites were expected to close the deal for the England international earlier this week after triggering his £60m release clause. But Forest are pulling out all stops and have decided to accuse the North London club of breaching the contractual agreement details.
Thomas Frank wants to bolster his squad depth for next season as Spurs look to compete on all four fronts. Bringing in Gibbs-White would be massive as he would instantly elevate the quality of the midfield. The England international is a workhorse and tends to give his all for his team week in week out.
The 25-year-old wears his heart on his sleeve, and that is clear to see whenever he gets on the pitch for his club. So, it is understandable that Nottingham Forest are playing hardball as they do not intend to lose another valuable player before next season kicks off. However, Spurs fans will hope that Daniel Levy manages to find a loophole and lands the attacking midfielder quickly.
There is some belief amongst the Tottenham fans that the Lilywhites will land Morgan Gibbs-White in the summer. The player is keen to move to N17 as well, and the legal complaint put forward by Forest against Spurs is just a delaying tactic to ensure that the North London club give up in their chase for the 25-year-old.
Now, Bryan King believes that Morgan Gibbs-White is ‘unhappy’ at Forest and wants to move to Spurs in the coming days. Speaking to Tottenham News, King said,
“I can’t imagine he (Gibbs-White) is very happy at the moment. Suddenly, Nottingham Forest have an unsettled player, who thought he was going to a different football club one minute and is now still with the club he wanted to leave. He obviously does want to join Tottenham. To me, this just seems like a delaying tactic to try and unsettle the player and get him to stay at the football club.”

Bryan King believes that Gibbs-White is not happy with how Nottingham Forest have handled the transfer situation. The ex-scout adds that the England international still wants to leave the Reds and join Tottenham in the summer. King also insists that Forest are just trying to delay the transfer and unsettle the player by forming a legal complaint against the Lilywhites.
It remains to be seen how the situation pans out regarding the 25-year-old’s future. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not someone who likes to back down, and fans will be confident to rely on Levy to land Gibbs-White in the coming days before the new season commences.
