Liam Rosenior is struggling at Chelsea right now, and Kaveh Solhekol on Sky Sports has speculated that players are not buying into his ideas.
Chelsea fans have seen players down tools plenty of times over the years when it comes to managers they don’t like – and we fear we’re seeing the same thing now.
It’s not just fans who’ve noticed it. Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol has just said this about the manager’s situation.
“If you’ve watched Chelsea over the past couple of weeks, you get this feeling that some of the players are not really playing for their head coach,” the top Sky journalist said.
“So the question is, are they convinced by Liam Rosenior, or do the players think exactly what a lot of fans think that Liam Rosenior, appointing him was a big, big risk, considering he didn’t have the kind of experience that you normally need to manage a big club like Chelsea.”
When you combine that with what we’re hearing from Marc Cucurella today about the sacking of Enzo Maresca, it’s all very worrying indeed. We’ve seen this play out before, and it’s almost impossible for a coach to get the group back onside once they’ve given up on him.
Chelsea’s attacking stats have gone off a cliff in recent games – are the players tired, or do they just not want to play for Liam Rosenior?
