Nottingham Forest keen to beat Tottenham Hotspur to Jacob Ramsey

As Nottingham Forest look to block the North Londoners pursuit to land Morgan Gibbs-White in the ongoing summer transfer window, former Arsenal sporting director Edu is already plotting revenge as he looks to swoop in for a player who is at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist this offseason.

Edu looks to compound MGW saga with Jacob Ramsey transfer

The Lilywhites were said to be advancing in their bid to land the former Wolves midfielder till Forest launched a legal challenge against Daniel Levy, which was directly accusing the 63-year-old of approaching Gibbs-White without their permission in order to take him away from City Ground this summer. And while Tottenham still remain confident of getting a possible transfer deal done, the off-pitch situation is expected to drag out for a while.

And while that plays out, Nuno Espírito Santo is wasting no time elsewhere, as Nottingham Forest and Edu have now made Aston Villa’s Tottenham-bound midfielder Jacob Ramsey their top summer transfer target.

Has Tottenham cooled interest in Jacob Ramsey?

We have seen Ramsey being linked with a move to N17 for some time. And there have been reports suggesting that Thomas Frank is a big fan of the 24-year-old and sees him as someone who can operate across multiple roles in attack. But according to The Telegraph, Forest are now stepping up their interest in Ramsey, and they are trying to act fast to leave Tottenham with no option to secure his signature.

Nuno Espírito Santo is said to see Ramsey as a key fit in his system, and Forest are ready to offer European football to get the deal over the line, but the thing is that Tottenham are not mentioned (in The Telegraph report) as a possible destination in the latest report, with Premier League duo West Ham and Everton also named as suitors.

Now this gets me thinking whether Tottenham have cooled their interest or are simply waiting to make a move remains to be seen, but given that Levy has already brought in Kudus through the doors at Hotspur Way, the 63-year-old club chairman could possibly be looking to sell before going back in for another wide option, with Son being highly likely to depart this offseason.

But for now, Nottingham Forest are pushing hard for Jacob Ramsey, and this can see Tottenham being hit with another transfer blow before the Gibbs-White situation even gets resolved.
