Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall has spoken about his move away from the club.

Worrall has departed the Premier League and English football for Besiktas in an initial loan move.

The veteran could end up staying with the Turkish giants, who have an option to buy him permanently.

On his decision, he stated: I think it was the right time to try something new. I was born and raised in Nottingham and I'm lucky to have played so many games with the club. I'm very, very excited to play for a big club like Besiktas."

He then added: he added: Determination, strength, leadership. I think those are the main things I would bring to the football team. I work hard and I'm a warrior on the pitch."

Forest issued the following statement: Joe Worrall has completed a loan move to Turkish Sper Lig side Beikta.

The defender heads on loan to Turkey for the remainder of the season, with the Turkish side having the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

Club captain Worrall, an academy graduate who joined the club in 2011, has since made 226 first team appearances for The Reds.

The 27-year-old made 30 appearances in the Premier League last season as Forest secured their status in their first season back in the top flight, and has featured nine times this term.

We wish Joe well for the rest of the campaign."
