The last time both teams faced off was on April 27, 2025, in the FA Cup Semi-final, where Man City won 2-0 at The City Ground with goals from Rico Lewis and Josko Gvardiol.

However, the last time both teams played each other in the Premier League, Nottingham Forest defeated Manchester City 1-0 at The City Ground with a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi on March 8, 2025.
