Official – Inter Milan Star Included In Ten-Player Shortlist For FIFA Ballon D’Or Lev Yashin Trophy

Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer is on the ten-player shortlist for the FIFA Ballon d’Or Lev Yashin Trophy.

This is confirmed by FIFA, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer has come to the end of his second season at the San Siro.

The former Swiss international joined the Nerazzurri from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

And whilst Sommer’s second campaign at Inter may have ended trophyless, it was an outstanding one for him on an individual one.

Above all, the 36-year-old’s heroics in the Champions League marked him out.

Sommer produced a string of remarkable saves in Inter’s triumphant Champions League semifinal second leg clash with Barcelona.

FIFA have recognized Sommer for the outstanding season that he had.

As part of the upcoming Ballon d’Or ceremony, the governing body is recognizing some of the best goalkeepers in the world over the past season.

FIFA have named a ten-player shortlist for the iconic Lev Yashin Trophy.

And these ten are Alisson Becker, Thibout Courtois, Yassine Bounou, Lucas Chevalier, Emiliano Martinez, Jan Oblak, David Raya, Matz Sels, and Yann Sommer.
