Joao Pedro has claimed that Chelsea team-mate Estevao Willian is going to be like Real Madrid star Vincius Junior.
Estevao finally arrived at Chelsea after the Club World Cup, despite the Blues agreeing a deal worth up to £51.4m with Palmerias last summer.
There’s a lot of excitement surrounding the teenager, and he hasn’t disappointed so far with his performances for Enzo Maresca.
Estevao has featured in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far, and started the last two against West Ham and Fulham.
The teenager has rightfully been receiving praise for his performances, and plays with no fear at all, and gets people on the edge of their seats when he’s on the ball.
Estevao became the youngest player in Chelsea history to register a Premier League assist, whilst he’s carried his good form onto the international stage.
Brazil beat Chile 3-0 on Wednesday evening, with Estevao scoring his first goal for the national team, and Pedro has likened him to a Real Madrid star.
“Mate, he’s from the street. You can see he is natural. Tosin [Adarabioyo] said to me: ‘Joao, wow. Estevao is amazing,’ he told The Standard.
“Playing for Brazil and Chelsea at 18, oh my God. He’s going to be like Vinicius Jr.”
It’s not just Estevao who’s impressed at the start of the season, Pedro has also hit the ground the running with two goals in the opening three league games.
The 23-year-old also scored three goals in three games at the Club World Cup, and has already established himself as an important player for Enzo Maresca.
Pedro is set to become even more important for Chelsea with Liam Delap set to be sidelined for at least eight weeks, and the Blues will desperately be hoping he can stay fit until the England under-21 international returns.
