'Only bettered by Salah'- Tottenham summer target banked to make a telling impact at N17

West Ham star Mohammed Kudus is keen to join Tottenham in the coming weeks

Tottenham are looking to up their ante as we reach the business-end of the transfer window. The Lilywhites are yet to make a mark in the summer, and the fans are getting anxious as time ticks on. The North London club cannot afford to miss out on their intended targets now, as Thomas Frank looks to kickstart a new era at N17 next season.

All eyes will be on Daniel Levy as he looks to bolster the squad by bringing in new players. There is a clear need to address the issues up front, and the right way to do that is by signing wide players for next season. The Lilywhites are aiming to compete hard on all four fronts under Thomas Frank, and having good depth in the squad will only prove to be beneficial in the long-run.

Many key attackers struggled to get going last season for Spurs, and the same cannot happen next season if the club wants to finish strong in the Premier League. The need to bring in a versatile forward is imminent as Thomas Frank relies heavily on his wingers while attacking. The wide players are inverted and tend to make underlapping runs whilst the striker drops in to receive the ball.

Tottenham edge closer to seal the deal for West Ham star Mohammed Kudus

There is no surprise that Tottenham have identified Mohammed Kudus as the potential replacement of Brennan Johnson for next season. The Ghana international is versatile and can either play as a number ten, or as a right-winger. Not only that, but the 24-year-old also tends to provide a different dynamic in the attack as compared to Johnson.

Now, John Wenham also believes that the West Ham star will thrive at N17 if he makes the switch in the coming weeks. Speaking to Tottenham News, Wenham said,

“Kudus is a great individual player. His dribbling ability is only bettered by Salah in the Premier League, in terms of that ability to pick up the ball and drive at defenders with pace and power. He can score a lot of goals, and he was outstanding in his first season in the Premier League.”

John Wenham has suggested that Mohammed Kudus is a ‘great’ individual player. The Lilywhite Rose owner points out that the 24-year-old has world-class dribbling ability as he likes to take on the defenders and drive the ball forward using his explosive pace. Wenham also acknowledges the Ghana international’s ability to score goals, and reminds the fans that the West Ham star was prolific in his first season in the Premier League.

There is no doubt that Kudus has a lot to learn to become a world-class player. The winger is still young, and his best days are yet to come. To perform week in week out for an underperforming team like West Ham is not easy. Yet, the Ghana international has managed to raise eyebrows and make waves in the Premier League during his time with the Hammers.

He did not endure a strong individual campaign last season. But the Spurs fans should not worry about that, as the Hammers were in transition and faced a lot of crises as the season went on. Adding Mohammed Kudus to their ranks would surely make Tottenham a strong contender for the Champions League spot next season.
