After this weekend’s fixture against Villarreal, Jagoba Arrasate will leave Osasuna after six years in charge. The 46-year-old is set to take charge at fellow La Liga side Mallorca, and the search for his replacement is hotting up.

Relevo say that Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vazquez is taking his time with the process, although he has whittled down the candidates to two: Rubi and Vicente Moreno. The likes of Luis Garcia Plaza and Inigo Perez had been on the shortlist, although they will be staying at Alaves and Rayo Vallecano respectively.

The report states that barring any last minute changes, Osasuna’s next head coach will be either Rubi or Moreno. Both candidates have opportunities to join other clubs in Spain, although they prioritise the chance to manage in Pamplona.

It remains to be seen who Osasuna opt for, although whoever takes the job will have a tough task living up to the standard set by Arrasate over the last six years.
