‘Outstanding’ Tottenham Midfielder Among Two Players Ruled Out For Final Matches

Tottenham Hotspur face an uphill task in their desire to end Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge in an upbeat fashion ahead of the match against Manchester City. Just before that clash, the coach delivered a gutting update on the status of two first-team stars.

Tottenham Hotspur Confirms Season Ending Injury For Yves Bissouma

Which Tottenham Players Have Become Latest To Join Injury List?

Postecoglou has confirmed that both Yves Bissouma and Richarlison will be out of action for the final stretch of the 2023/24 campaign. Speaking ahead of the game against Pep Guardiola’s side about the Mali midfielder, he remarked: “Bissouma picked up a knee injury in the last game (win over Burnley) and he’s out for the season.”

Not only that, but the Tottenham boss also delivered some unfortunate news on Richarlison. He added: “Not good, he’ll miss the next two games. Nothing serious but enough to keep him out for the next two games.” This comes after they already lost left-back Destiny Udogie after he suffered a bad knee injury that will also keep him out of Euro 2024. Timo Werner is also injured amid questions around his long-term future.

What Lies In The Future For Bissouma and Richarlison?

Both Bissouma and the Brazlian forward will be gutted to be out for the final two matches of the Premier League season. However, the two could be in for an interesting summer transfer window as Postecoglou aims to significantly strengthen his squad for the 2024/25 campaign.

That is because it has been reported that they could cash in on both the Mali midfielder and Richarlison if they receive suitable offers for the two in the summer window. This could be a real shock for Bissouma, who was hailed as “outstanding” earlier in this campaign, producing some admirable performances in the 28 appearances for the Lilywhites in the 23/24 Premier League campaign.

Both these players will currently focus on recovering from their respective knocks and hope to be able to win over Postecoglou to keep him at Tottenham for at least one more term.
