Tottenham-linked AC Milan star has made a decision on his future.

Tottenham Hotspur have been very busy in the transfer market and are showing no signs of slowing down, having recently signed winger Savio from Manchester City.

The Lilywhites completed a £75 million base transfer for Savio, which includes an additional £10 million in potential performance-based add-ons. The Brazilian is set to be followed by his Manchester City teammate Omar Marmoush to N17 soon. The focus for Tottenham in recent days has been bringing in attacking reinforcements, and after the potential addition of Marmoush, it looks like Roberto De Zerbi wants more.

The North London club have been interested in AC Milan star Rafael Leao since July, but were focused on making other priority signings in the opening months of the summer transfer window.  Recent reports suggested that AC Milan offered Rafael Leao to Tottenham again, an idea the player’s entourage was trying to pursue last month. Now, there has been a fresh update on the story.

Rafael Leao makes decision on joining Tottenham

According to reliable journalist Sacha Tavolieri on X, Rafael Leao has rejected the opportunity to join Tottenham. The Portuguese international has made it clear to AC Milan that he only wants to join Galatasaray this summer. He has already reached an agreement on personal terms with Galatasaray.

Leao is expected to leave the Rossoneri after seven seasons. The 27-year-old had already made up his mind to try a new challenge before the World Cup started in mid-June, and with the summer transfer window entering its final phase, he is internally pressuring the AC Milan hierarchy to agree on a fee with Galatasaray as it is his preferred destination.

The left-winger’s stance provides clarity following weeks of speculation linking him with moves across Europe. Spurs have been actively searching for dynamic wide attackers to improve the creativity and goal output. Leao’s direct dribbling ability, pace, unpredictability and versatility made him an appealing candidate for the North London club.

However, the Milan man has prioritised joining Galatasaray over Tottenham or any other European club. The De Zerbi-managed club may now turn their primary focus toward alternative targets to strengthen their attacking unit before the transfer deadline. The acquisition of Savio is a smart one, but if De Zerbi wants more options in wide areas, the board must try to make it happen.
