
In the wake of Ruben Amorim being sacked bby Manchester United, The Red Devils are looking for stability at Old Trafford and Carrington.
As expected, a whole host of names have been thrown out as potentials to step into the United hotseat as Amorim’s replacement.
Already Darren Fletcher has stepped up to lead the senior team into their clash with Burnley, with Jonny Evans returning to his former club to assist.
However, they may not be the only former players to help stabilise the ship, with CentreDevils revealing that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to return.
That said, it’s not only the senior team manager United are looking to recruit to, with the head of academy recruitment also in need of a new hiring.
Now, The Daily Mail has reported that Newcastle United’s Paul Midgley was approached by The Red Devils, however has rejected their offer in favour of remaining with The Magpies.
Paul Midgley emerged as the front-runner of 10 candidates, with his former experience with Jason Wilcox while at Manchester City giving him an advantage.
It marks yet another former Manchester City member of staff looked to by United since the hiring of Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox, with new academy chief Stephen Torpey having also been a Citizen.
However, Manchester United are ultimately still looking to replace Luke Fedorenko whilst on gardening leave before leaving to join an agency.
