Inter’s worries that their defender Benjamin Pavard could miss more than a few games were confirmed after medical tests highlighted a muscular strain to his left thigh.

The France international limped off in the first half of his side’s 1-0 win against RB Leipzig in the Champions League, and there were immediate concerns that he could be ruled out for a significant time.

Pavard’s injury confirmed by Inter: how many games he will miss

Inter officially confirmed his injury on Thursday: “This morning, Benjamin Pavard underwent essential medical exams at the Istituto Humanitas di Rozzano,” an official statement reads.

“The Inter defender has suffered a strain to the biceps femoris muscle of the left thigh. His condition will be re-evaluated next week.”

According to Sky Sport Italia , the problem could keep the player in the treatment room for about three weeks, meaning he should miss at least five or six games across three different competitions, as Inter are also set to make their Coppa Italia debut against Udinese on 19 December.

Pavard’s problem adds to the Nerazzurri’s physical troubles in defence, as Acerbi recently picked up a new injury while playing against Verona, although his recovery is expected to be quicker.
