Chelsea winger Noni Madueke is attracting interest from Tottenham and Arsenal as both clubs look to bolster their flanks for next season

It has been a slow start to the transfer window for Tottenham following their strong end to last season. The Lilywhites are yet to get going in the market, while other clubs are bringing in reinforcements quickly. With time ticking out constantly, Daniel Levy must back Thomas Frank in the coming weeks and sign the intended targets as the club looks to compete on four fronts under the Danish tactician.

The fans have already started getting frustrated as Spurs are missing out on players constantly. The Europa League success was meant to be a turning point for Daniel Levy’s tenure at N17. But the lack of movement in the summer has only damaged Levy’s image as the North London club are playing catch-up with other teams in the transfer window.

The Lilywhites clearly need an upgrade on the flanks, and bringing in a quality winger would bolster the squad depth for next season. Last season’s standout player was Brennan Johnson, and it is fair to say that the winger came in with some clutch goals for the club. But signing a cover for the Welshman would prove to be a masterstroke as it will keep the 24-year-old on his toes next season.

Tottenham are keen to test the waters for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke

Tottenham need to get going in the transfer market and act fast if they want to close the gap on their rivals next season. The Lilywhites must aim to bring in a solid winger that would provide cover for Brennan Johnson next season. The Welshman needs to kick on from last season and carry on the good form. And bringing in some competition in his position would mean that Johnson would fight harder to retain his spot in the team.

It was reported earlier that Spurs were interested in signing Noni Madueke from Chelsea. The England international has been in and out of Enzo Maresca’s side, and has failed to make an impact at Stanford Bridge for a consistent amount of time. The aforementioned report also stated that the winger does not fit into Maresca’s system and the Blues are willing to cash-in on the 23-year-old if a suitable offer comes in.

However, there is a new twist in the sage involving the Chelsea winger. As per Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are also interested in signing the England international. The Gunners are looking to provide cover for Bukayo Saka, and want to sign Madueke for next season and beyond. As of now, the 23-year-old is one of the many options Arsenal are considering for the right-wing position.

Daniel Levy must act quick if he wants to land the Chelsea winger in the summer. As per Sofascore, Madueke racked up 11 goals and four assists in 41 games in all competitions last season. The number aren’t great, but there is a lot of potential that can be unlocked if he plays in the right setup. With Brennan Johnson already proving his worth at N17, it might not be a bad move by the Lilywhites to bring in an understudy for next season.
