Chelsea only have four games left to play now this season before they can turn the page on this season and start the next page, which they will be hoping will be much more positive for them.

This season has been a disastrous write off for the new owners, which has been their first season in charge. And next season they will be looking for major improvements under the next permanent manager, which is expected to be former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

The club decision makers are now in full planning mode for next season, according to Ben Jacobs writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea this week.

One of the things Pochettino has made clear to the Chelsea board is that he wants to keep Mason Mount in his squad, as in the report. But he will be looking at many other things as well.

“Chelsea are already in full planning mode for next season,” Jacobs said. “My understanding is that Pochettino has made it clear he’d like to keep Mason Mount at the club. It’s not a given, but Chelsea certainly haven’t given up on getting him to extend.”
