The 2025/26 Premier League season is just a couple of games away from its end. Arsenal look to be in pole position to win the league title, whilst Tottenham Hotspur have gained an edge over West Ham United in the relegation battle.
But who made it into our team of the week? We’ve included stars from teams such as Manchester United, Manchester City and Brighton – here’s who made the final cut.
Even in the wake Antonin Kinsky’s nightmarish debut for Tottenham, we felt he had much more to offer than what immediately met the eye. Lo and behold, we were right.
Kinsky couldn’t keep a clean sheet against Leeds United, but he prevented them from suffering a damaging defeat, making a pair of world-class saves along the way.
Noussair Mazraoui is threatening to become an afterthought at Manchester United, but he was the best player on the pitch in their tepid 0-0 draw with Sunderland.
The Black Cats seemingly targeted him throughout the game, but it didn’t pay off – Mazraoui was able to deal with everything that Sunderland could throw at him.
Konstantinos Mavropanos played like a man possessed against Arsenal – as a former Gunner, he clearly had a point to prove.
Sadly, he would be on the losing team, but it wasn’t for lack of trying. He threw himself into every tackle and duel, making a number of crucial interventions.
Lewis Dunk is doing everything he can to try and carve out a spot in England’s World Cup squad – and secure European football for his beloved Brighton next season.
Following their 3-0 win over Wolves, they’re now seventh in the table. Not only was Dunk on hand to make sure the Seagulls kept a clean sheet, he also scored their second goal of the game.
Sunderland’s game against Manchester United at the weekend was uneventful, but no-one could criticise the performances of the defenders.
In particular, Omar Alderete had a lot of work to do. He won more aerial duels than anyone else in the game – considering he shared a pitch with Harry Maguire, this is some feat.
Maxim de Cuyper is perhaps this week’s star player. He racked up two assists and maintained a clean sheet – little more needs to be said.
Brighton have been excellent this season – Fabian Hurzeler has done a brilliant job with the Seagulls, despite a steady stream of criticism levelled at him from his own fans.
Bernardo Silva is known as a silky, skilful midfielder – when Manchester City took on Brentford, his defensive acumen was on full display.
Silva make six tackles against Brentford, more than anyone else in a Sky Blue shirt – he also played more passes than any other player on the pitch. Silva, in the twilight of his career, has transitioned from an exciting winger to a midfield general.
Ethan Ampadu is another player who started life in a different position, only to find that he is best suited to being a central midfielder later in his career.
A former defender, Ampadu ran Leeds’ midfield against Spurs. Making some excellent tackles, passes and carries, he has been an excellent pickup for the Whites.
Yankuba Minteh’s potential in the modern game is seemingly limitless. Wolves had no answer for him as he breached their backline time and time again.
Scoring Brighton’s third goal of the game, his development has been fascinating to watch in the current season.
Jeremy Doku was let off his leash against Brentford – watching him play with absolute freedom was an utter joy to behold.
He gave Michael Kayode all kinds of issues, gliding beyond him with ease on several occasions – can Doku lead Belgium to glory at the World Cup?
Erling Haaland may not lift the Premier League title at the end of the season, but he is doing everything in his power to avoid missing out.
The Norweigian international scored a goal and racked up an assist against Brentford, though they syill taril Arsenal by five points.
