Tottenham are planning to reward Mikey Moore with a new contract in a bid to fend off Borussia Dortmund interest

Over the last few years, Tottenham Hotspur have focused on investing in highly regarded prospects and tried unlocking their potential through the corridors of the Hotspur Way. The signings of Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert, Antonin Kinsky and Mathys Tel and some more are big examples of that transfer strategy.

In addition to bringing in young and dynamic talents to the club, Ange Postecoglou has not hesitated to give the academy kids opportunities in the first team when needed. Mikey Moore has been one of those, and the youngster has done well whenever given opportunities to shine in the big stage.

Mikey Moore, regarded as the best talent to emerge from the academy after the legendary Harry Kane, broke into the first team during this recently concluded campaign. The fearless winger was the beneficiary of an injury crisis in the first half of the season that saw him get regular opportunities to showcase his talent. However, a bad virus sidelined him for several months, and after recovering, he managed only a handful of appearances in a Spurs shirt.

After winning the UEFA Europa League last week, Tottenham fans could be in for more treat. Moore has agreed terms with brand-new agents Unique Sports Group, following in footsteps of Arsenal academy talent Ethan Nwaneri. Now, with the teenage prodigy set to be represented by new agents, reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham believes the player will agree a new contract at Tottenham.

“I think Moore will sign a new contract when he turns 18 in August,” John Wenham exclusively told Tottenham News.

“By having new agents, that could allow him to get the best possible deal when that time does come. His new agents won’t just be looking after the football side of things, but they’ll be taking care of the contracts with boot providers and things like that.

“Therefore, it seems as though this is just a change, for something different, and that is fair enough. He is coming up to his first proper contract at the age of 18, and he will want the best people behind him.”

Recent reports stated that Spurs were planning to reward the young Englishman with a new deal to fend off interest from Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga side have shown an interest in signing Moore in recent weeks and plans to test Tottenham’s resolve with a formal bid when the transfer window reopens next month.

The North London club bosses have no interest whatsoever in entertaining any potential offers from Dortmund as they look to tie Moore down to a new, improved long-term contract and secure his future. In the summer, Tottenham will plan to give the Southwark-born talent opportunities in the pre-season tour, and impressive displays there could result in increased game time in the 2025/26 campaign.

And when August comes, as Wenham predicts, fans could see Moore sign a new contract and continue his journey with his boyhood club.
