A credible, long-standing Spurs’ interest exists in respect of Georges Mikautadze and is active again now, but it remains a rumour/link largely buoyed by this afternoon’s post on X from Paul O’KeefeTottenham’s interest dates back further to when he was at Lyon amid their financial issues

Fresh reports and social media notes list Mikautadze among names attracting interest as Tottenham seek to strengthen their attack in the current window.

He is not portrayed as the sole or top target, and discussions appear to be at the monitoring/evaluation stage rather than any advanced negotiations.

Tottenham could be leading the race, with a willingness to offer in the £44/£52 million range for a summer move, viewing him as a versatile, technical attacker to bolster the forward line

It may be worth noting that Barcelona have also been linked more prominently in the last day or so as a possible Plan B if a higher-priority move for the Catalans, say if interest in Julián Álvarez were not to progress. There have been claims of player talks and willingness from Villarreal to negotiate around €60 million, in some unconfirmed quarters.

Is this a ‘Bomba’?

Mobility and versatility: Mikautadze is agile and dynamic rather than pure target-man; presses intelligently and contributes to build-up. Can operate as a lone striker, second forward, or from the left.

A versatile, goal-oriented technical forward with proven scoring pedigree and creativity, best suited to systems that value movement and combination play over pure physicality.

His 2025/26 La Liga output (13 goals + 6 assists) supports interest from clubs like Tottenham seeking attacking reinforcement.

Physical profile: At 1.76 m (5 ft 9 in), Mikautadze is not dominant aerially and can struggle against very physical centre-backs or in pure aerial duels. He is more effective when partnered with a stronger target presence rather than as an isolated lone striker in crowded central areas.

So, not really, if we’re honest.
