PSG vs Inter Milan: UEFA Champions League Record-Prize Money Revealed

As the 2025 UEFA Champions League Final unfolds at Munich’s Allianz Arena, Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan are not only trying to win the European glory, but also receive a record-breaking prize money.

This year marked a historic shift in Champions League as UEFA introduced a new format in the competition. Not only this, the entire prize pool also saw a major growth from the previous season. The total prize pool for the 2024/25 season currently stands $2.71 billion (€2.437bn/£2.06bn), an increase from last year's $2.19billion (€2.03bn/£1.74bn).

This marks the highest ever prize money distributed in the UEFA Champions League history. The new 36-team league phase format is primarily to blame for this $453,906,000 increased prize money. The winner of the final between PSG Vs Inter Milan will receive $27.8 million (€24.4mn/£20.6mn), while the runners-up will earn $20.8 million (€18.3mn/£15.4mn).

Throughout the competition, PSG and Inter have already accumulated considerable profits in revenues. Inter remain the most profitable with $111 million in Champions League earnings while PSG maintain the second position with $103.5 million. Both finalists remain the only clubs to break the $100 million barrier in 2024-25 season.

The additional revenue is also thanks to UEFA's performance-related prize money that accounts for 37.5% ($103b) of the overall pot. Moreover, the 2025 Champions League winner will be eligible to compete in the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup, the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, and the 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, which will provide more revenue opportunities. 

Regardless of who wins the 16.5 pounds trophy along with the $27.8 million prize money, both PSG and Inter Milan will surely put on a show, deeming to their entertaining Champions League matches this season.
