Rasmus Hojlund has been at Napoli for three months since officially joining the current Serie A champions in the final stages of the summer transfer window.
Since joining the Naples outfit, Hojlund has excelled scoring just 14 minutes into his debut to double Napoli’s lead in that game.
Furthermore, the striker has received praise from Antonio Conte for both his form and potential whilst also returning to Manchester with Napoli to face Manchester City, a game in which the Serie A champions lost 2-0.
From a wider lens, the striker has scored twice in eight games for the Naples outfit in Serie A and has scored a further two times in other competitions arguably making his loan spell successful so far.
Meanwhile, with the striker’s loan spell approaching the halfway point, Napoli have been assessing Hojlund’s performances and the prospect of a permanent move.
Now, in the middle of this evalutation, Rasmus Hojlund has suffered an injury during Napoli’s latest win against Atalanta.
The game, in which Napoli won 3-1, saw Hojlund forced off in the 74th minute with what appeared to be a hamstring problem following him assisting David Neres’ first goal to give Napoli the lead.
For Napoli, the injury adds to the long list of absentees that the side currently have with players such as Kevin De Bruyne, Billy Gilmour, and Alex Meret missing having all played some part in the Naples outfit’s campaign so far.
Furthermore, the Danish international’s injury follows him missing Denmark’s encounter against Belarus due to an injury that he sustained before the fixture.
Now, with a new injury picked up in Rasmus Hojlund’s comeback game, attention could turn to Napoli’s medical team for an update on the striker’s condition.
But, in this case, only time will tell.
