In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Real Madrid are preparing to move in for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha. It has been stated that Los Blancos are planning to make a €100m offer to land the Portuguese talent next year.
Vitinha has enjoyed a decent run of form at the French club in this campaign as he has produced a series of impressive displays for them in Ligue 1. The Portuguese midfielder has featured in 14 matches for PSG this season, scoring two goals and grabbing six assists in all competitions.
The 25-year-old has anchored the midfield well and deserves credit for making six tackles, four blocks, three interceptions and six clearances in Ligue 1. He has even been tidy with his ball distribution after completing 94% of his attempted passes in the top tier of French football (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the French club will run out in the summer of 2029. Hence, it makes sense for Real Madrid to snap Vitinha up next year.
Vitinha is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer of the ball.
The Portuguese sensation is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder or as an attacking midfielder if told to do so by his manager. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Los Blancos manage to get him on board in 2026.
We can expect Vitinha to add more firepower to Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting place at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
At 25, Vitinha has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great choice for Los Blancos to consider this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Alonso has to give him some time to adjust to life in Spain before he can get the best out of the player at the Madrid club.
