Real Madrid confident of signing JJ Gabriel

The JJ Gabriel saga has been a weird one for Manchester United.

After expressing his desire to leave the club in September, the 16-year-old has been tipped to join many top clubs in Europe, who are all fighting for his signature.

From Bayern Munich to Barcelona, everybody wants the player tipped as the next big thing.

Manchester United have not attempted to hide their willingness to keep hold of such a prospect either, reportedly offering JJ Gabriel a scholarship contract in an attempt to lure the player back in. It feels like an unlikely circumstance.

To have such a young player holding so much power in the situation is just something United have to deal with.

A departure for JJ Gabriel could be wrapped up sooner rather than later, following a new development.

Real Madrid are now confident of signing JJ Gabriel, according to journalist José Félix Díaz via Diario AS on Instagram.

The Spanish giants, who are now managed by former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, are waiting for the young prospect’s final decision – something that could come soon, after the highly-rated player recently turned 16.

The move could come if Gabriel first obtains his European passport – something that may not be straightforward.

A move to Real Madrid always felt like the likeliest switch for the 16-year-old, however the Spanish La Liga side have not been alone in the hunt.

As well as the two giant Spanish clubs, Bayern Munich have held talks with JJ Gabriel and his representatives.

UEFA Champions League holder Paris Saint-Germain have also made a move to sign the player.

However, the frontrunners appear to be Real Madrid. It’s down to JJ Gabriel to make his desires clear now.
