Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is as stingy as they come, and when the Merengues don’t sign players at key positions of need because they allegedly cost too much, it’s not really because they are out of money.
The biggest sports brand in the world, Real Madrid almost have a license to print money from the Spanish government, so high is the amount of revenue they generate, which has only increased exponentially with the creation of the new Santiago Bernabeu.
According to a report from MARCA, Real Madrid have set a new record with their current transfer budget for the 2025/26 season. They now have 1.24 billion euros in their coffers that they can use to their liking.
So wheeling and dealing is very much within their capacity, and while Real’s current transfer targets are mostly veteran free agent center backs like Dayot Upamecano and Ibrahima Konate, if they want that shiny Toni Kroos and/or Luka Modric replacement, they 100 percent have the funds to do so.
