On Saturday, CaughtOffside reported that Liverpool are reportedly worried about history repeating itself after losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

According to the report, Konaté is asking for wages of around £200,000 per week, a figure the club isn’t eager to match. If no agreement is reached by the end of the summer, Liverpool are prepared to sell the defender for a fee between €50 and €60 million.

Internally, the club has reportedly marked this summer’s transfer window as the deadline to resolve Konaté’s situation. They’d prefer to cash in now rather than risk losing him for nothing later.

MARCA recently reported that Real Madrid are still targeting players whose contracts expire next season, with Konaté at the top of their wishlist for the summer of 2026.

L’Équipe reported that PSG are keeping an eye on Konaté as they search for a right-sided center back. The Liverpool defender’s name had surfaced frequently a few months ago, but so far, no offer has been submitted to the Premier League club.
