Endrick has continued to attract major interest as Manchester United assess attacking options ahead of the new season.

The Brazilian spent the second half of last season on loan at Lyon, where he produced eight goals and eight assists in 21 appearances.

He has also scored seven goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid since arriving from Palmeiras ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Endrick is primarily a striker, although his pace and direct style also allow him to operate from the right when required.

The 20-year-old has long been viewed as one of Brazil’s biggest attacking talents.

United supporters will also be familiar with his admiration for two Old Trafford icons.

Endrick previously named Cristiano Ronaldo and Sir Bobby Charlton among his football idols, strengthening the intrigue whenever his name is linked with Manchester United.

Michael Carrick already has Benjamin Sesko as his main centre-forward, but United have continued to monitor opportunities in the market.

That interest has now led to a fresh development involving Endrick and Real Madrid.

Real Madrid make decision on Manchester United approach

According to The Sun, Manchester United made a loan enquiry for Endrick but saw the move rejected.

The report states that Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho blocked the deal because the Brazilian remains firmly in his plans for the new season.

That follows reports earlier this week that United had approached Endrick again over a possible move after his impressive loan spell in France.

Aston Villa and Roma have also been linked with the striker this summer.

However, Real Madrid appear determined to keep him at the Bernabeu rather than sanction another temporary exit.

Endrick joined Madrid after becoming one of Palmeiras’ youngest-ever first-team players and one of Brazilian football’s most highly-rated prospects.

He made an immediate impression in Spain, scoring on both his La Liga and Champions League debuts for Madrid.

His loan spell at Lyon then gave him the regular minutes he had struggled to find in Madrid.

For now, though, United’s move has been rejected and Endrick looks set to remain in Spain to fight for a place under Mourinho.
