Kylian Mbappé won’t be boosting his Ballon d’Or  chances with a UEFA Champions League trophy this year. Paris Saint-Germain’s loss to Borussia Dortmund in the semifinals last week means he won’t have that trophy for his candidacy. Additionally, his soon-to-be new teammates are getting behind someone already.

Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. are both players who have the potential to give Mbappé a run for his money when it comes to top individual honors. These two stars from Real Madrid could clinch the Champions League trophy next month if they manage to secure a victory against Dortmund.

Nonetheless, it seems the Brazilian will have the full support of the dressing room to win the Ballon d’Or this year. According to MARCA, the Real Madrid locker room has begun the campaign for Vinicius to win the annual award that goes to the top footballer.

Moreover, manager Carlo Ancelotti sees Vinicius lifting the honor, as he recently noted while speaking to the media.

“My feeling is that Vini Jr. is on the verge of winning the Ballon d’Or; what he is doing this season is really special,” Ancelotti said. “He is always present in key moments.”

Mbappé’s chances of clinching the Ballon d’Or will get a significant boost if he wins UEFA Euro 2024 this summer. Without competing in the Summer Olympics, winning the Euro trophy could become the highlight of his achievements, complementing his success in France this season.
