Real Madrid is arguably the most notable club in world football.
Almost every player growing up dreams of one day pulling on the iconic white shirt of Real Madrid. The club is known for always having some of the best players in the world at any position at any given time, and it doesn't stop signing top players no matter how deep and talented its squad already is.
However, sometimes, there are players who already have had the honor of playing for Real Madrid who want to compete alongside those from other clubs, and they try their best to recruit them. This is just the case when it comes to Real Madrid center-back Antonio Rudiger playing with one of the Premier League's top defenders.
While speaking on the podcast "The Inside Scoop," Rudiger gushed over both Arsenal center-backs Gabriel and William Saliba.
"If he continues to do what he does," Rudiger said while talking about Saliba in particular, "I'm not trying to scare [Arsenal fans] but, at the end of the day, it's clear if he does what he does..."
Rudiger likely was alluding to the fact that if Saliba keeps on playing in the top form that he is, Real Madrid may come calling to try and pry the Frenchman away from Arsenal to add him to its already formidable squad.
Just last month, Real Madrid was rumored to be showing interest in the French defender, but those rumors quickly died down and have just now been revisited after Rudiger's podcast interview.
Rudiger's comments, whether made jokingly or not, will no doubt be to the dismay of Arsenal fans who would not be keen to let the defender leave, as he is a key piece to the Gunners' success in recent seasons.
Given that Real Madrid already has a rock-solid center-back partnership in Rudiger and Eder Militao, as well as David Alaba looking to return from an ACL injury later this year, Arsenal fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as Saliba appears safe from leaving the London club, at least for now.
