The Lilywhites are lacking a creative player in the midfield after James Maddison ruptured his ACL earlier this month. The England international is all set to miss most parts of the new season as a result of that.

However, this is the perfect opportunity for Daniel Levy to put the money where his mouth is and back Thomas Frank in the transfer window. Bringing in a new #10 is crucial as the Danish tactician relies heavily on his attacking midfielders to create chances for the frontline. Not only that, but the ex-Brentford boss also relies heavily on the midfielders for build-up play.

With the absence of James Maddison in the squad, Spurs really lack a natural #10 for the upcoming season. There is a case to be made here that Mohammed Kudus can operate there in case of an emergency, but the Lilywhites cannot take that risk heading into the season. Now, there is a new update regarding the transfer involving the ex-Fulham star. As per Sebastien Vidal (via X), Tottenham are ready to meet Liverpool’s asking price of £40m as they look to strengthen the #10 position. The North London club is offering Elliott regular game time under Thomas Frank, tempting the versatile attacker to make the move to N17.

If things go as planned, Spurs will have a new attacking midfielder before the start of the new Premier League season. Signing a player of Harvey Elliott’s calibre is a no-brainer. The Liverpool attacker is still just 22-years-old, and he clearly has a ton of experience playing in the big competitions.
