Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou might not be at the helm for next season

It’s been two weeks since Ange Postecoglou led Tottenham all the way in the Europa League and ended the club’s long-standing trophy drought. The Australian tactician made history at N17 and became only the third Spurs manager to win European silverware. It is fair to say that his team exceeded all expectations and won the Europa League against all odds.

While the fans are still in celebratory mood after the historic achievement, there is a sense of uncertainty buzzing around North London. It was reported earlier that Daniel Levy was leaning towards sacking Ange Postecoglou in the summer, despite the Europa League success. But the club chairman has still not taken a decision and fans believe that Levy is second-guessing himself.

The Europa League success was meant to be a perfect springboard for Tottenham to bounce back and close the gap on its rivals. But the Lilywhites are already playing catch up in the transfer window and fans are getting frustrated that no decision is being taken regarding Ange Postecoglou’s fate at N17.

Ange Postecoglou is being kept in the dark at Tottenham amid uncertain future

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou is still facing an uncertain future at N17, despite delivering silverware last month. The Australian tactician has always remained keen to continue his project at Hotspur Way and announced that there was going to be a ‘season three’ during the trophy parade in North London after the Europa League success. But there is a fear amongst fans that the main character (Big Ange) will be killed off before ‘season three’ even starts.

No, Alasdair Gold has given an update on the managerial situation at Spurs. Talking on the Guest and Gold podcast, Gold said,

“From what I understand, people around the club, Postecoglou and his staff still have no idea whether they are going to be continuing in their roles for the coming season or not, there’s been no indication either way. That’s absolutely mad, it really is. From what I understand, Daniel Levy had a holiday for a post-season break, but he’s back now. I think Postecoglou’s still away, until the end of this week or early next week. Something should have been made clear now.”

Alasdair Gold has suggested that Ange Postecoglou and his staff still don’t know whether they will be at N17 next season or not. The reliable journalist added that Daniel Levy went for a holiday after the season ended and came back to North London a few days back. But the Spurs chairman has still not taken a decision regarding the managerial situation at the club.

It remains to be seen what the final outcome will be. The fans are hoping that Big Ange is given a chance to build on the Europa League success next season. Many players have also come out and backed the Spurs manager to turn the fortunes around at the club after ending the season on a high. While Daniel Levy decides whether to keep the Australian or not, Tottenham have already shortlisted Thomas Frank as the ideal replacement if the ex-Celtic leaves the club.
