Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze is facing an uncertain future amid Tottenham transfer links

The clock is ticking as Tottenham are still looking to make a mark in the transfer market. The Lilywhites have just not got going and there is a concern amongst the fans that the North London club might miss out on their intended targets in the summer. Not only that, but Daniel Levy is also facing the pressure to build on the Europa League success next season.

It is clear that Spurs cannot falter now. They need to kick on and back Thomas Frank in the summer if the club wants to have any chance of closing the gap on its rivals next season. And the Lilywhites also have a massive task of revamping the squad after the disastrous Premier League campaign that the club endured last season.

Several areas on the pitch need to be addressed before next season starts as key players failed to perform consistently. But to bring in new signings, Daniel Levy will need to cash-in on underperforming players. In short, the North London club must adopt the ‘sell-to-buy’ policy to afford new arrivals.

Tottenham need to fend off competition for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze

With Heung-Min Son heading towards a potential exit in the summer, Tottenham need to bring in a quality replacement that could fill the void left behind by the South Korean. It was reported earlier that Spurs are interested in signing Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace. The England international is also keen to head for pastures new in the summer. And the Eagles are looking to recoup the £68m release clause fee for his services.

Spurs are not the only ones eyeing to land the 26-year-old though, as Arsenal have also entered the fray. But, Darren Ambrose has urged the Lilywhites to turn Eze sour on the Gunners and remind him of the previous history between the pair. Speaking on talkSPORT, Ambrose said,

“We need to remind him, don’t we, that Arsenal released him — released him as a kid! Those were tough times for him! He [Daniel Levy] has to pay the money. We have spoken about this, you would’ve spoken about this many times, if we want to start competing with these top teams, we’ve got to pay top wages, not just top transfer [fees].”

Darren Ambrose urged Tottenham to remind Eberechi Eze of his past, as Arsenal released the England international when he was young. The ex-Premier League player also insisted that Daniel Levy should splash the cash on the Crystal palace star if Spurs want to compete with the top teams.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Eberechi Eze. Crystal Palace are under no pressure to sell the prolific attacker, and will only listen to offers that are matching the England international’s release clause. It was reported earlier that Daniel Levy wants to bring in Eze to make a statement that the North London club are not there to mess around.
