Andrey Santos turned down a proposal from Saudi side Al-Qadsiah worth around five times more than his current salary according to reports.

The Blues signed Santos back in January 2023 from Brazilian side Vasco da Gama in a deal thought to be worth around £13m.

Santos spent 18 months on loan at Strasbourg, and excelled last season scoring ten goals as the Ligue 1 outfit qualified for the Conference League.

Al-Qadsiah made €70m offer for Andrey Santos

The 21-year-old is set for an important role this season, and has featured in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far.

Santos is also part of the Brazil squad for the upcoming internationals, and will be looking to add to the two caps he already has.

The Brazilian has been subject to speculation this summer, and Chelsea turned down an offer worth £45m from West Ham for Santos.

He was also on the radar of Bayern Munich, but the Blues have made maintained their stance that Santos isn’t for sale.

However, that hasn’t stopped clubs trying and Brazilian outlet UOL have reported Santos turned down a proposal from Saudi side Al-Qadsiah worth around five times his current salary.

The report adds the Saudi Pro League side made an offer worth €70m, which opened negotiations with Chelsea, but the midfielder would only have negotiated for double the salary offered.

UOL state his priority is to remain in the Premier League and make the most of the opportunities at Chelsea, and remain part of the Brazil set-up.

Chelsea well stocked in midfield

Midfield is arguably Chelsea’s strongest area of the squad, and was further bolstered by Santos and the summer arrival of Dario Essugo.

The duo add competition and back-up for the likes of Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, but with Lavia struggling with injury there’s an opportunity for the Brazil international to move ahead in the pecking order.

Given the Blues are competing on four fronts this season, there will be plenty of opportunity for the youngster to start games, and try and move himself up the pecking order.
