Attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni is one step away from joining Genoa from Inter Milan for the upcoming season.

This according to La Repubblica, via FCInterNews. They report that the deal could be finalized in time for Carboni to play in Genoa’s squad for their preseason friendlies.

At the moment, Valentin Carboni is a part of Inter’s senior squad.

The Argentine’s loan spell with Marseille last campaign ended prematurely. This following an ACL tear that he suffered during the autumn.

Carboni spent much of last season recovering from that injury.

And having fully healed from that devastating knee injury, Carboni was ready to travel to the United States for the Club World Cup this summer.

Carboni got his share of playing time for Inter Milan at the Club World Cup.

Most notably, the 20-year-old scored Inter’s stoppage time winner against Urawa Red Diamonds.

Valentin Carboni One Step From Joining Genoa On Loan From Inter

This summer, though, the priority has been to find Carboni a new club where he’d play regularly.

And it is Genoa who have stepped up to the fore to sign the 20-year-old.

Grifone coach Patrick Vieira is a big admirer of Carboni’s. He feels that the Argentine is the right player to inject some quality into the Ligurian team’s attack.

Therefore, Genoa have been pushing to sign Carboni on loan. And they are close to an agreement both with Inter and with the player.

According to La Repubblica, the clubs are just working out the final details of the loan.

They report that Carboni could join the Grifone’s preseason training camp. Then, he could be in their squad for their preseason training camp in Oviedo.
