Report – Arsenal hands Real Madrid a transfer blow

Arsenal have handed Real Madrid a major transfer blow with their stance on Martin Zubimendi, as the Gunners insist he will not be sold during the January transfer window.

The midfielder has hardly played for the Gunners this term, despite being a mainstay in their team last campaign and helping them win the Premier League title. His limited involvement has raised questions over his future, particularly given his importance to the side previously.

Arsenal stance on Zubimendi

Zubimendi is one of the players Arsenal believe has helped take them to a new level. However, after he failed to get minutes at the World Cup, the Gunners have also not been giving him regular opportunities this season.

When he has started a game, it has been as a right back, and it is unlikely that he will receive many more chances to play as the season continues. As a result, there is a good chance he could ask to leave the club.

Arsenal want to keep all their players, and according to Fichajes, even though Zubimendi is not getting as much game time as he wants, the club will not discuss a January transfer with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid transfer interest

The Spanish side had been keen to win the race for Zubimendi’s signature, but Arsenal currently have no plans to sell him. The club’s position means Real Madrid could face difficulties if they attempt to pursue a January deal for the midfielder.

Zubimendi’s lack of playing time could still create uncertainty over his future, particularly if his opportunities do not increase during the remainder of the season. His previous importance to Arsenal means his situation will remain closely linked to the club’s plans for the squad.

For now, however, Arsenal’s position appears clear. The Gunners intend to retain Zubimendi and will not consider his departure during the January transfer window.
